WOMEN'S FA CUP....

The 'Women's FA Cup Final' took place on the 15th of May, against two extremely dominant sides within the 'Women's Super League' (WSL). These two teams were Chelsea and Manchester City, and the past five finals have either been won by one of these sides. However, this year was the first time that the teams have met in the showpiece event. Emma Hayes' side was going for the double, having previously taken the WSL title the week before. While Man City were attempting to go for their third FA Cup Final victory. The match raised a large amount of interest with it having record attendance,

55,000 tickets were sold, making it a record crowd for a women's game in England. This is a huge milestone within the women's game, and simply proves the growing popularity of women's football. The match was an extremely exciting, yet tense, one keeping viewers on the edge of their seats. The final score was 3-2 to Chelsea, meaning that they secured their third FA Cup Final win. Hopefully we will continue to see the growing popularity of women's football, and I am sure many viewers are intrigued by what next season holds for the women's game.
